Standards-Based Education

Music Workshop courses are developed to align with national standards for music, arts, and humanities education and to promote cross-curricular learning for students. We provide documentation detailing how each course addresses standards requirements for music, social studies, and English language arts in each grade band.

Grades K-2

Young learners at this stage are introduced to the fundamental elements of music through playful and interactive experiences. Our K-2 music curriculum engages with rhythm, melody, and movement, developing a basic understanding of music while building their listening and motor skills.

Grades 3-5

Students in grades 3-5 start exploring musical elements in more depth, learning about various instruments, genres, and historical influences. They begin developing knowledge base and enhancing their ability to analyze and appreciate music.

Grades 6-8

Students in grades 6–8 expand and strengthen their ability to analyze and interpret music, connect musical concepts to cultural and historical contexts, and refine their responsive listening. Lessons encourage students to evaluate and respond to music critically and explore more complex elements such as form and style.
