Beats, Moves, and Big Smiles: Hip Hop Comes to B.F. Day Elementary!
There’s nothing better than seeing our curriculum come to life—and this week, we got to do just that!
Our Director of Programming spent an energizing afternoon at B.F. Day Elementary School in Seattle to introduce students to our brand new Hip Hop courses, and the response was incredible. From the moment the music started, the room was buzzing with excitement. Students in grades K-2 jumped right into the Musical Movement Minute, following the beat, learning new moves, and fully engaging with the lesson.
It was clear right away: this was more than just fun. It was meaningful.
We believe deeply in the power of relevant, culturally responsive music education. Hip Hop is a genre that so many students connect with—and when they see it reflected in their classroom, they light up. That connection was on full display at B.F. Day. The students loved singing and dancing along!
Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Watching students feel seen, inspired, and empowered through music is the ultimate reward. And getting to witness their curiosity, creativity, and joy as they explored Hip Hop’s rhythm, roots, and movement? That’s the magic.
We’re so proud to offer courses that celebrate music in all its forms—and to support educators with engaging, relevant curriculum that brings learning to life.
Thank you, B.F. Day Elementary, for letting us share in the rhythm of your day!
